Btw, you can find the XP bar by going to your map then clicking the tab "overview" or somthing or other like that.
Hey! See my update above. You definitely CAN get XP from killing Crusher in exploration, but it either requires your marines to deal the killing blow, or is just buggy.
Happy hunting!
And yes... they killed a crusher with runner backups using only their service pistols and the gods gift to mankind... Sentry guns.
The XP from Onslaughts also seems inconsistent/buggy. It seems like if the Onslaught xenos can't pathfind to your marines (such as if they're travelling in the ARC or if the onslaught spawn point is in an inaccessible part of the map, like at the top Berkley's Dock) the Onslaught is immediately over but your marines don't get XP.
Also, my testing leads me to believe that killing the cat 2 xenos won't grant XP if the sentry guns deliver the killing blow.
Hmmm seems like inconsistent XP gains needs to be seriously addressed by the devs. I haven't notice any instances of getting XP from killing a Crush with just the ARC.
The in-game documentation also states that you get XP for killing "Boss" xenos. The main point of confusion is wether "Boss" only applies to narrative boss encounters (like the first time you fight the crusher in Dead Hills) or if killing that level of xenos during exploration also grants XP.
Which a lot of people are reporting that it does, but inconsistently.
No argument there. A lot of things have to be fixed, that's why I decided to mention that it felt surprising that I did actually get that exp, even though I was no way present or close to the spot where ARC killed crusher.
I have found that I also don't get the XP if one of my mines kills it, but so far I think direct fire abilities like Suppressing FIre, grenades, and the sniper shot do work.
I just keep the map up right when the gauge is about to hit the level 2 threat, try to spot which spawn point a dot comes out of that moment and then go hunt it down right away with just guns and 'nades.
Works pretty well except on the cowardly praetorians.
