Any way to kill eggs quietly ?
Usually they are around a good pile of loot or survivors.

apparently grenades don't trigger alien hunt, only sound investigation.

Precision shot with silencer but thats only 1 egg per use. Grenades work really well.

This doesn't work, nearby or alien eggs will automatically start chasing anyway. Therefore, only snipers work here and that's it.

Like the others have said, either a suppressed sniper for complete quiet or a grenade with no aliens in tracker range.

Sounds like you're not killing them all at once and not running away if there are aliens walking around in tracker range.

In the initial missions, it is possible to kill all the eggs. In the following missions, they cover large areas, because of which, after hatching, the pursuit immediately begins

You can fire multiple grenades at once. Or get a recon character.

I've never noticed a hunt when I used a flame thrower. But that could just be luck.

I always shotgun or grenade them. It does not trigger hunts or anything and removes them instantly. You just need to do it before hugger sees you. And noone should of course have a line of sight to you when you are doing that.

I also think flamethrower kills them silently.

Mechanical objects like Turrets also don't seem to trigger hunts so you can activate one pointed at the eggs and bugger off before the facehuggers emerge, it should work.

why is my flamer not doing damage to the eggs

Huh? Mine does. Guess it is a bug, but maybe you're not hitting them, something blocking the flame?

Flamethrower kills 'live' eggs but does not damage the occasional 'dead' egg which doesn't spawn facehuggers and are purely decorative.
