Nightmare Difficulty and Taking Multiple Days
How many days are you typically taking to finish a campaign deployment on Nightmare? I am still on mission 1 and day 2. Has me curios about how many days it takes to finish missions comfortably (collecting most items, trying to not be overly aggressive).

Doing the missions themselves I'd get done in one ofr two deployments, the biggest issue was taking time to heal everyone but by the final deployment I still had around 13 days which I used down to 2 inorder to heal everyone and gather resources, seems there is plenty of time. The only events I collected on rest days were a free medic and then ones where you were forced to take an option of exhausted/trauma etc

Ah, thanks for the notice. That won't bother me much since you can just load the save before you started whatever mission took you way too many days.

Playing on nightmare I always do missions with 1 deployment unless the script says you can't. Example mission 1 & 6.

This depends on so many things. The doomsday clock only starts after mission 5-6 I think. Until then the only thing you lose from taking longer is that the infection level goes up. Besides that, there are a variety of ways to play this game.

You can be stealthy, in which case playing takes a long time, but it's generally safe and you can usually do a mission in 2-3 segments. Some people seem to bring the best firepower and just gung-ho through it all, ignoring the aggression level. Also, I only recently learned here on the forums that Techie drones don't aggro aliens, so the past 2 missions (10-11) I sent my drone to explore everything while I was safely tucked away behind a minefield and sniper cover making sure not to aggro anything. Exploring that way is super fast and relatively risk-free. WeyU can still shoot your drone down, but it's a blessing in disguise because if you just aggro them and escape, the dumb AI instead starts to run for your soldiers. So you get to clear much of the map while in your best defensive positions, instead of storming rooms where they are waiting for you behind cover. Otherwise the drone lets you know exactly where all the loot is, what doors are worth decrypting, and just lets you explore as close to no risk as you can.

No more forcing your way through 10 dormant aliens and 15 eggs with constant patrols coming in from behind you to explore a room that has nothing of value.

Playing on nightmare with no one can hear your screams. Doing missions 1-3 in 4-5 deployments to maximize xp. Wounds are 1-2 days. No traumas because I rest before stress gets to 100. Had 2 squads of level 5 at the end of mission 2 and level 6 at mission 3.

After the doom clock appears I'll probably do the missions in 2-3 deployment depending on the time.

Also you should skip the events where you lose deployments. They are not worth your time unless your squads need recovery.

You can do everything in 1-2 days.
Just like you can skip deployment every once in a while and still be fine.
It's plenty time even on Nightmare and there's no point in stressing over it, just play it at your own pace as we all should.

Thank you for the additional info! You and I might have a similar playstyle in this game. I usually have an aggressive style but I'm enjoying stealth so far.
