Mission 10 sucks...
Just way too long and so many enemies. I had 10 days left and I literally couldn't lose because I didn't have any replacement marines if I failed.

And then the narrative just takes a nose dive into stupid heroism. Why are we risking the entire ship just to save the daughter of someone whose personality is generic soldier number 57?

Then you have the whole Yutanis mercs and synths thing that makes no sense and it is just confusing... "WE HAVE TO SAVE EVERYONE, THAT'S THE MISSION"... no, it isn't. Just fly off this damn rock and go away.

You're stretching and forcing the story to continue and for the dumbest reason. I understand the sentiment of wanting to save everyone including someone we are "close" to. But having the entire ship be risked just to save like 4-10 people is insanely stupid and clearly rushed.

Copied from another topic:
I also want a better motivation tbh than just 'save 1 life but risk everyone else'.
That's stupid.

At least some (or more like most) of the stories doesn't make sense to me.

I feel you. But I feel they didnt really sacrifice much to save the daughter They sent a strike team of seemingly speaking volunteers. I actually liked the general story. But the Development of Maeko and Harper and their roles was clearly the weakest point.

I just wish they made Saving people a bigger factor. It's literally half of the driving factor of the story, and we save MAYBE 20 people in total? I would think an entire mission would be dedicated to saving a settlement that's under attack and getting the people out. If not more then one

100% with you on this. They really treated saving people as an afterthought and even actively went against it several times. Like in Berkley's Docks there is a train with eggs leaving and they just let it go to investigate hangar or the fact that they never try to warn anyone about Alien infestation and use the satellite as a bomb, so frustrating.

Oh my god, you're right. We had the dropship with the ability to destroy the train, but it wasn't even considered. Hell that ability doesn't even get introduced until several missions later

To be fair, I think I remember them asking for volunteers in the beginning of the "Find Cassandra" arc, which; although is just word play and you still have to do the mission and select your marines. This worked enough for me to still enjoy the story's simplicity in my opinion.
