Planetary infestation level impact
Does anyone have any numbers on how much this impacts the number of aliens?

I know it caps out at level 5. Is it 20% more aliens per level or something? I'm trying to decide whether its worth it on nightmare to camp for level 10 marines from the training room even if it means there will be more aliens. Especially since the daily events can give survivors, aliens parts, materials etc. You could also deploy and just farm aliens for parts, since later you unlock the ability to spend them to lower infestation level, you could do that when it becomes available.

But if the planetary infestation level is something like 100% increase per level I might have to rethink that. Not just because it makes combat harder, but because it will become much harder to stealth through levels with more aliens roaming around

From what i know, it makes more patrolling aliens and more types of aliens, like the runners. But beyond that, it doesn't change much

It markedly speeds up how quickly the hive activity bar progresses between levels.

I think it also adds how many aliens are ambushing - on the earlier days youll notice there might be like 1 or 2 and as it increases youll see a lot more in vents and will be added to by the patrolling drones. Alas i dont have a number as each map im sure spawns a different amount

I'm hoping we'll get the maths eventually.

I can confirm that I've experienced what the others here have said, excluding the faster aggression buildup; that seems the same (could be wrong though). I'm at infestation level 3 right now and I'd say the roaming aliens have roughly doubled, and variants like the runner have started appearing in Dead Hills, so presumably warriors will appear in earlier levels too.

There's way more vent spawns too. It hasn't made things harder, but it's bloody annoying having to wait all the time until they move.

One thing I've started noticing is that they seem to be going out of their way to avoid the ARC. I don't know if that's related to infestation level, aggression level, or story progression though.
