I did set the Aliens against the Mercs. Both on the first floor, and in the Offices by letting them in with the controls presented in multiple locations.
But when I went back into the mission there was one little cutscene of Aliens (of which they were the only ones left on the map, no more spawned) running towards the now disabled security turrets outside of the front of the main building. This triggered when I got too close to the front, but I hope that isn't what caused the problem considering there's no way I was going to be dumb enough to walk in front of deadly turrets.
Yeah, the developers also released a patch since I had the problem that claims to have fixed the issues if you return to the map. My game of course completed all objectives, but never unlocked the next mission - even with this "fix," so I'm waiting to see if it works in a future update. I'm not really feeling like replaying the entire game, and the fact you can't save manually means you can't work around bugs like this by having an earlier save.
Have you checked if you have another mission in REFINERY under a new sub tab?
I believe so, but I will probably double check sometime. I feel like the developers fixed the bug for most people but maybe because I restarted things so many times or I triggered things in just a slightly wrong order it led to mine not being fixed.
