the drone is so niche, it cant even scout propperly since some missions dont spawn enemies until your squad is within a certain radius of the spawn zones
Edit: I will add, that if the drone Did Not trigger hunts, i would absolutely love that class
and yeah if you don't want tecker but still need hacking, you can take it.
The wierd thing is I thought you needed a tecker to repair synths?? Guess you just need someone with smart ass or did my game bug out in a good way on me??
So u dont have to have a tecker trash useless soldier class in your squad C:
I do wish that Teckers would get a bit of a buff, honestly. Maybe the Smart-Ass perk should take much longer to unlock doors than a Tecker does, and the drone needs a buff for things like combat (plus should be less buggy overall).
They need to buff the Drone and make it more useful. I only take this class with me until I get smart ass on another Marine and then I dump the hacker into an infinite loop of Intense training as a punishment for being so useless.
The drone allows you to map an entire floor while your squad sits in a room somewhere. This aids in planning the most efficient route.
The 'Make Noise' utility is what makes the drone broken because you can play it back to back to keep corralling enemies infinitely away from your path, OR into a forray of turrets to wipe the map clear of them for a bit.
I recently just used it to pop every egg (about 30+ eggs) on an entire floor and lead them all into a leadstorm, so I could then loot and move with a bit more ease.
In harder difficulties, stress is SO debilitating and can make or break a run. So reducing as much aggressiveness is key. By luring all enemies into their death, I only had to deal with a single wave, and have a significantly reduced chance of triggering another. At the very least, I'll be more capable of defending if I do trigger another.
