u did every mission in 1 day so u have plenty time.
i read somewhere its fine to take 2 days per mission. but dont know for sure
2-3 days per mission seems plenty imho.
(so I've been told, haven't actually seen it myself)
i once had 4 days reset to the counter, one time a 7 day reset
it's just random but gets higher chance of being in your daily choice to make the closer you get to the end.
If you're in the refinary again then you're near end game. Make SURE you have a few days prepared because of the door bug. Leave and come back if it happens. You'll know it if it happens.
I do all or nothing. Deal with the stress. You can actually cheese it and wait days for supplies before the timer starts.
I don't like timers in games like this. I'd rather have missions that can keep going. I disliked it in Xcom 2. Most people did. Why do people keep thinking it's a good idea to rush through gameplay? In a single mission sure, but don't make it the win/lose button for the whole game.
I also argue the game would be much better if it was also doing more RNG type missions with random missions as well. Meaning more gameplay. Maybe in a DLC.
Does this mean i am certainly doomed and might as well just restart the game and go thru another hour of "tutorial"?
P.S. i really do HATE these "hurry up playing the game you like, Dont enjoy, just HURRY!" mechanics. I hope they make it optional on the next patch.
Nah, you're good. The doom counter doesn't trigger until around mission 5, I believe. The only "punishment" for being slow early game is the infestation level increasing.
Yeah, the counter doesn't come up until you're most of the way through the game and it is more than generous enough unless you specifically picked a very harsh difficulty level.
A lot of people do seem to hate the concept of the counter, but I personally think it was well implemented. I find it very odd how so many people get upset about being told to "hurry up" when this game's core gameplay is entirely based around getting through missions as quickly as you can (balancing that with how much you can explore or loot) to minimize the Alien aggressiveness and the damage you take.
Balancing how fast you can make it through the game with how much threat you put your marines under and how much you are able to get in supplies and such from missions, is pretty much the point of this game.
The timer won't start until you get to a certain point.
That and if you mess up an ENTIRE GAME the you start ALL OVER AGAIN FROM SCRATCH. It's bad game design when done like that. You don't just start a single mission there. You have to do it all. Over. From. Scratch.
