Hard crashes my PC. CPU overheat?
I havent even gotten to the second mission. Game shuts down my computer, and it seems like it has to do with CPU overheating? It happened while in the menus at HQ.

I've tested other games, even checked the airflow and dust in the case. This should not be happening. All components are new this year.

Im posting my components here for future troubleshooting:

MSI B550M Pro-VDH WIFI
PNY CS2230 M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB
Kingston Fury 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz C
AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz 35MB
AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT MBA
Seasonic Prime B12 BC 850W

I requested a refund. What a shame, this game seemed awesome.

EDIT:

For posterity or future googlers:
This problem was solved after much troubleshooting. Turns out the PSU was faulty and gave out whenever the GPU spiked. This happened during the
in game cut-scenes for whatever reason.

Replaced PSU and rebought the game, finished with no crashes. Marvelous game :)

Are you getting Clock_Watchdog_Timeout errors? Just asking for my own info. It isn't happening to me with Aliens DD (though the game noticeably cooks my right leg with the GPU running at 83 degrees Celsius) but I have had that error with high temperature over time games before - in my case it happens with Division 2, AC Odyssey and Cyberpunk (which also made me suspicious that 2 of those are Ubisoft made...). That error is supposedly for overclocking your system (which I don't do) but I have the suspicion it may actually be a temperature shutdown.

1+ Im having my computer also just shut down. it happens with this game and Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries. Other games works fine though.

First tip, enable Vsync. It is disabled by default so the GPU runs like hell.

So far that seems to work :)

I have the same problem with my amd processor, it is imperative to limit the fps otherwise the cpu does not stop overheating. I do it with msi afterburner, it limits overheating. During the mission avoid zooming out as much as possible, the more your camera is distant, the more your cpu will make calculations and therefore will heat up.

lock frames at 60 fps ,,,, reduce graphics settings to medium.

It shouldn't be overheating, my 5800X3D barely gets 20% usage in the game and stays around 62 C. (FPS locked to 131)

It might be a driver issue?

Yes that's what I thought. I updated drivers, and it happened still. Maybe I need to wait for new drivers.

Thanks for all answers, but i refunded the game. I'll try it some time later when it's been patched some more.

If this is the answer I will wait until the game is better optimized. Thanks!

This seems to overhelmingly happen to people with AMD CPUs.
Which is kinda ironic since they got some partnership bs going on with AMD hence why we got FSR but not DLSS support. Iirc*
Not that it would be needed.

to be honest if your CPU is over heating that the cooling is not adequate enough...
