Marines Stuck in ARC?

Am I doing something wrong? I had the game autosave after a long period of sneaking around and avoiding aliens when I moved the marines into the ARC to redeploy elsewhere. I quit to do something else for a minute and when I reloaded all 4 of my marines were still in the ARC with the text "Marine in ARC" over where their stats should be.

I can move the ARC around the field, I can still pause the game and do everything else. But I can't control any of my marines or tell them to get out of the ARC. When I move the ARC my camera does not follow; I guess I'm just calling the ARC to a location instead of redeploying my marines. But I also don't have a command to deploy and none of my keys do anything.

Halp?
