- Get recon class the moment you get them, the sniper + silencer is a one-shot kill for regular aliens and you can silent assassinate solo patrols or if they are sleeping without causing an alert.
- When a Charger comes in or one of the specials, don't place all your sentries next to each-other, it'll do a slam and they'll be ALL broken. Place them separated around the room, so while one of the specials are wasting their time trying to break one of them, the others are safe and can melt their health-bar.
- overloading a Decoy motion sensor to lure the aliens to the turret to clear places out without alert is OP... as luring them to the APC. Good for alien specimens for the lab!
- sometimes safe-rooms are bugged and you can't rest after closing the room... can't do anything else but open and close it back up again. Make sure it says " x rooms to close for save room" otherwise most likely you have a bugged room.
- At times one of your soldiers (because the squad moves as one entity) AI's path-tracking might fail and they'll get stuck on terrain/ freeze on a spot and stay there until you come back to them. Keep an eye on your number of soldiers every now and then. It doesn't happen a lot... but its EXTREMELY annoying when it does and you didn't see it until you are way further.
- sniperrifles with silencer make the game way easier
- place motion trackers everywhere - and if needed, use them to distract the whole mape (place some mines near motion trackers for the extra lulz)
- have i told you mines are nice? just mine every intersection
Not giving XP or anything but still cool
Completely useless.
Sometimes new room got unwanted surprise, not because aliens will detect you from running all over the map.
Also, ideally (can't be followed every time btw) you should find a safe room with 1 door at <= lv 1 stress, weld it & rest.
That also function as a manual save.
