Infrared Goggles?
Does this imply invisible aliens/humans are in the game at some point? If not , I don't understand the value of what these bring if I already have the motion tracker?

It is not entirely game changing. But eggs and aliens in stasis do not show up on the tracker and can be hard to spot in the darkness.

Does anyone remember the infrared scopes on the marines from Aliens, when their at the atmospheric processing station. When they said 'go infrared stay sharp' then dietriech says 'maybe they dont show upon on infrared at all' before she gets grabbed.....

Thanks Fab555 - for now that sounds like a waste of resources to invest in vs other more more pressing traits.

i mainly use it to check behind doors, blips don't show what your facing, but if you do that before you go in the door you can see what every enemy is

Ive finished Pioneer station, i haven't found much need for implimenting any of my team with it.

Lets you see enemies behind walls when you point your flashlight in their direction. It let's you spot enemies that don't show on the motion scanner. Also, allows you to tell whether an enemy is an alien or a human enemy. Finally, there's a level where your motion sensors are disabled, so this keep you from spending all of your time being hunted there. Very useful IMO.

Pioneer had about like 5 instances of needing it (but you can tell if its a xeno or a walking Working Joe)...hopefully the next mission will need it.

10/10 would always pick that perk.

it is useful SA, but its hit or miss if it will work through a wall/door.

also going from AVP, Xenomorphs don't show up on infrared.

Hold on! There's actually a mission where the motion tracker fails? ♥♥♥♥! My entire strategy is based on using scanners. Paying attention to the small one in the corner, as well as setting up a gapless network of scanners everywhere. If that suddenly fails, I can be attacked from virtually anywhere and walk into traps.

It's useful if you never run. But, if you do run everywhere they are mostly a waste.

Yeah that's a good point. In the Aliens vs Predator movies/games they went with that too with Aliens not showing up on Predator's Infared vision. He switches to some other mode that can see them.

The infrared vision was such a fantastic upgrade for the flashlight, I can't imagine using a recon without it now. The ability to highlight enemies through walls and doors could have been even handier if I'd known about it sooner.
When they turn the motion trackers off it becomes essential, I can't imagine doing that level without it.
Every class in this game is useful, there is no such thing as a useless class honestly.

It's a great upgrade, especially for the later levels. You can avoid a lot of ambushes with ease.
