Mines don't work half the time
I understand that mines are almost a cheese with how many you can use, but i swear, half the time the AI will walk over them and absolutely nothing happens. this made a couple standoffs very difficult. I know this was prob posted already, just boosting visibility so the devs can hopefully look into it.

I've also had this happen, only once or twice, but still, they for sure walked through the red part of the circle, yet it didn't explode.

If you have a marine within range of the claymore, it will not detonate

So, in order to trigger the mine they have to get in that center 1 meter zone directly on top of it, that wider outer circle is just the blast radius. Gotta position them dead center of the passageways. Mines work great. You will unlock an option later to give them pheromone lures to attract aliens, but I haven't bothered to test those out.

yes they walk dead center on them and this happens. no trigger at all.

I've noticed that non-xeno enemies walking around the mine are less likely to trigger it, might just be them avoiding the smaller trigger zone though.

TBH I regret trying the pheremones. I leave trails of mines everywhere I go, very handy to have a clear indication of a safe route on the map.
But that upgrade just means all my mines are gone. lol.

This. Mines will not detonate if a Marine is in the danger zone. Found this out the hard way, but it's legitimately a nice feature now that I know I can't accidentally blow myself up.

For me they work every time no worries.

Like some others mentions, The mines won't detonate when a marine is within range, but the same is also true for a sentry gun. If you mouse over a place mine, you will see the radius of it and if a sentry gun or marine is in the radius, they will have a red outline which tell the mine to not get trigger.

They don't work when there's a detector near either. This can be both good and bad though... you can use it...

anything considered allied wont trigger the mine. Also, sometimes directly infront of vents or spawns.

Yeah, the pheromone mines are only to be used selectively. Most of the time I find them counterproductive, as you use up your command points, and aliens keep respawning to replace those you kill with the mines. The only maps I find them to be kinda useful is Tantalus, and maybe the office level at pharos spire - but only when I want to clear out a certain area for a short period of time.

As said before, mines won't go off if a marine, a motion tracker, or a sentry gun is nearby.
