I've had numerous times now where drones and cultists just run through the wall of outgoing fire and bonk the flamer user which has me scratching my head as to if its just not applying the damage properly or something else.
You need to move your recon in the line of sight of your target. This means if the enemy is around a corner, you'll need to expose all your squad members until you get a white line that will allow you to use the sniper. It's a bit of a hassle when using it in tight spaces but its doable with a bit of maneuvering.
Yup, you'll need to move the whole squad since it's not possible to individually move your squad members. Sometimes you'll need some trial and error for those sneaky snipes. My tip is to use the slow mo when moving and aiming your sniper so you'll have an easier time estimating whether you can kill your target before it detects your squad.
