Thanks for the reply. I’m resetting the pc now and no crash yet. Using CORSAIR AIO.
All temps look fine. Going to check drivers and do some scans for corrupted files in the cmd prompt.
Might just let music play for a bit via YouTube.
See if that does fine then tomorrow…play a low graphics game then move up to bf2042. Give it all time to resettle.
Gonna have to actually pray bout this one. Paid so much for this rig. 570 strix e boards are still expensive af. Bought it 3 years ago.
I was waiting for the game since the first announcement. Last week I got my new high-end computer running games like D4 on max settings without any heat problem. I can run just any game without any problems. Until your crazy Aliens running through my system... well.... ACID for blood I guess? Seriously it's stuttering like hell and my new PC sounds like an airplane about to lift off. No Joke folks. We need the following ASAP:
- Option to change and cap the framerate IN-GAME
- Please display a info about texture resolution setting. Is HIGH for 1080p or still 4k?
I think there is something wrong going on with the textures at all. My guess is that you programmed it in a way, that the highest resolution is used even if it's set to low.
As much I was looking forward to your awesome game, I've refunded it. It broke my heart, but the current version is not optimized and dangerous for any computer system. There may be some people who don't have any heavy problems, but I think they're just "liucky" or they're working for Weyland. Anyway, I'm very happy for them but you know.....
... I am Ripley. Last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off.
Hard crashing in computers is generally due to poor airflow, incorrect paste applied to CPUs, too much dust in fans/radiators, poor fan speed control settings, corrupt drivers/software or other hardware related problems.
Any overclocks you may have may need to be reduced or turned off. Also be sure to keep your ambient temperatures down inside the room if possible, as this will add to the PCs temperature problem.
Considering this game has got Very Positive reviews I very much doubt the game is to blame here.
I’ll have to get back to you on it. I’ll try and get ahold of my specs, use some apps to get temp readings, and maybe see about getting some data for when it crashes. But no promises.
All I can definitively tell you is I always crash right before I meet the guy you put out of misery in the first mission. Before I got there for the first time, I was doing great! Since then, I crash far earlier then that segment.
😂😂 the nerve 🤣🙃🤣👽
I hate it man. The game is so much fun but I need my pc working for when phantom liberty release.
I’m looking forward to playing this game repeatedly.
Really hope these developers/publishers reply soon with good news or hard facts.
What happens when you crash? Thermal shutdown your BIOS hard powers down everything so straight to black screen.
No black screen. It just freezes the entire Pc in its place. This has happened on occasion with a few other rare circumstances, but this is the first I’ve been able to repeat it like this. I simply can’t move mouse, hear new sounds, and screens stay stuck in place like a PNG. My only choice is to hold the power button and force a relaunch
I'm sure the devs are already working on a patch.
To everyone saying it's because of SUMMER... Did IQs just drop sharply while I was away?
So many people, including me saying, that they can run any other game without any heat problems. And as I said, I got my new high-end PC last week. There is so much heat-paste inside I could throw a nuke in and nothing would happen.
I presume Windows. Go to Event Viewer -> Windows Logs and check System and Application.
That could be an unstable overclock like RAM timings. Really I'd watch CPU and GPU temps.
So I found prior info on crashes when I was experiencing them as this.
-kernel power, as a source comes up a lot.
ID 41
-Event log, unexpected shutdown
ID 6008
I reinstalled the game and am currently playing it. I’m reading a gpu usage as high as 89% when the game is active and not paused. Temp as high as of cpu at 118F and cpu at 105F.. task manager doesn’t say I’m using any of my gpu and instead 17% of my CPU I’m getting closer to the area where I usually get and nothing yet. It seems like using nvidia to force cap the game at 60 was probably key, or dusting out the fans.. I also moved my gpu a few brackets away from the cpu and AIO fan, and the general area is running less hot. I’m running it 2k with the settings maxed, and nothing yet.
😂😂🔥🔥
So I just spent the last hour plus repairing/reinstalling windows; also updated drivers for my gpu, and completed all windows updates even the optional ones…
No crashes since.
Working theory: the games bugs along with lack of yet to be released drivers will cause some sort of software related issues.
I would play it on a virtual machine for now or a shadow (online server rented) pc.
Basically I would play it on console or somebody else computer until I hear around here and elsewhere that things are running smoove as silicon lips…

I'm experiencing constant game breaking GPU driver crashing on a specific part in mission 2 (when explosions start and fast aliens chase you), literally can't keep playing the game past that point.
GPU and CPU temps are below 80C and 60C respectively. Neither of components reach 100% load. I even turned off ALL of my overclocks (GPU, RAM and CPU), game is still crashing in that spot. Therefore this is a SOFTWARE problem, not a hardware one. Game didn't crash before this point.
Worth noting that no game ready AMD driver was released for this game. I hope the devs fix this, because the game has been enjoyable so far.
