How does one reload the Battle Drone?
Fairly simple question. The game claimed that reloading the Drone would cost 1 Ammo, but mine's sitting at 0 ammo and I see no option to reload it. The Techie won't reload it himself, at least that I've seen. What am I doing wrong?

That turned out to be the answer. Counter-intuitively, the Drone is treated like a mobile turret, and has to be reloaded (as well as repaired) like one. Very odd design choice, but there we go.

I didn't realize Drones are treated like mobile turrets. I thought the SMG was a secondary weapon and don't take up ammo reserves. I still want to try one out with my Tecker guy. Didn't know I would need to budget ammo and tool consumption for the Drone like the sentry turrets.

How do you get battle drone by the way? Is it with the Recon class or tech class perhaps?

You get as later upgrade from the Tecker class. I was really looking forward to having one myself. You can do all kind of awesome stuff with it, but it seems you need to budget enough ammo and tools to maintain them like sentry turrets. Sending them as decoys might have a certain risk.

sometimes it just wont let your reload the drone though

Oh bummer I've upgrade marine as a recon instead of tecker. So instead of the drone, I have sniper rifle+silencer which is great in a way, but can the drone be stealthy too or are they too conspicuous?

I don't have the Drone yet. I saw another thread of with people saying they need to use quite a bit of tools to repair the Drone. Not sure how they are using their Drones. From what I have read, human enemies definitely react and attack Drones, so probably not a good idea to send Drones by themselves against human enemies. Not sure about Aliens, but it seems there is a certain level when using Drones. If they take the aggro off you like sentry turrets, it would still be worth the tools to repair them. It seems I would need to budget more pouch upgrades to carry more tools if I want an autonomous army of sentry turrets and Drones.

They aren't really stealthy, but they can do things like weld/unweld doors which is useful so that you don't have to spend a whole marine to do that in a firefight.

Best stealth option I've seen is just using scanners/mines with the pheremones to kill aliens without detection.

Mines in general are great and stay between missions. So planting a ton of these around the map should clear up any sentries.

I have one combat drone, but I don't find them particularely useful to be honest.
