Execute or Rescue

There’s a point in the game where you have the option of executing or rescuing people.

Is there a right or wrong answer when it asks you what you want to do with the civilian or does the game just make whatever you choose the right answer?
(You can execute them if you believe they are cult members.)

Yes, there is. The datapads will make obvious who to kill.

*but right now this event is bugged, you will get the negative consequence over the Otago even if you choose right. May the next patch solve this.

Yep, can confirm it is bugged. Shot the correct person, game gave me a message saying I figured out who the cultist was or something like that. Still got the event popping up. You can execute everyone, not sure if that will still trigger the bugged event.

Yeah, annoying bug.

Even more annoying, no matter what you do with the consequence, they never catch the assumed perpetrator.

pretty sure you can just rescue the 2 (ignore the bad 1 entirely) that are good and be fine its completing the quest that is bugged (only registers its completed therefore all are alive even if you shot him and it registered that pre completing it--> which then I also assume would be fine if you only rescue 1 and kill him and ignore last 1 .. but meh)
