I partially disagree on the first sentence.
I'm not much into RTS type of games but I'm welcome for a change of pace. Aliens can work in a Isometric view as long as they executed accordingly and make it engaging enough for me and everyone to play for hours on end.
Other than that, I 100% agree with everything you said. Lets hope this Survios developer can make a great action-horror Aliens shooter and not another disastrous one
Because the game itself looks great from what we could see SO FAR.
But there are some major concerns.
1. Singleplayer only: These kind of top down games are screaming for coop. And not adding coop to it will instantly cut the possible playerbase who are interested in playing it not just in half, but into a small proportion
2. Will this bee a "The Ascent" type of story oriented top down shooter just without the coop, or will it be an RPG type of looter shooter in a top down format?
They will loose out on a lot of potential customers if it is an on the rail game. It could still be good. But I think again, this formula screams for a looter type RPG game with chacarter builds and infinite replayability with having randomised new missions and maps constantly.
If it was turn based it would be off my wishlist.
The fact its still on my wishlist is a hope they'll consider adding co-op, and I'm a fireteam / Aliens fan too.
Where games like Company of Heroes (not great), and Call to Arms Gates of Hell (amazing) can add co-op, these guys can too, there seems to either be a lack of enthusiasm to do it, or a lack of knowledge (perhaps both).
Because you can always just turn it off and play SP, nothing lost.
Nevertheless, if they put it in, i only hope it isn't half-assed. Alien games truly need all the help they could get.
