Excavator not able to pick up sand

I noticed there was sand around my gas station and there was one right in front of my gas pump so whenever they pull off from the gas pump they get stuck on the sand and my excavator wont pick up the sand at all I've tried every angle nothing works I've reset it multiple times and nothing is work please help.

I haven't experienced this issue. Have you tried backing up and repositioning Rudy? That might help. I have experienced the bug where Rudy will stop will turning.

I have this problem. I'm still in the tutorial, trying to clear the parking lot, but I just can't pick up any sand at all. I've tried shoving Rudy's shovel into the sand heap. I've tried driving on top of it. I've approached it from every angle. I saw someone in another thread say it helped them to go into the settings, controls, and then change the keybinds for vehicle primary and secondary action. I tried that and it still doesn't work for me. I can't pick up or dump sand at all.

Someone in a reddit thread said they tried to go around to every single sand dune and the button prompt finally appeared on one of them, and after that it worked fine, so I'll try doing that.

Update: the button prompt keeps flashing and halfway appearing when I drive all over the different dunes. I did manage to scoop one bit of sand, then I dumped it, but when I drove back all the other dunes are still glitched. I can't scoop sand so I can't continue with the missions.

i have the same issue, i just started playing but i cant pass the tutorial becuse the excavator doesnt work

Maybe try hitting the red button by where Rudy gets parked. If ur lucky that might reset it. Worth a try.

I had the same issue and here is how I finally got it work.

Drive up to the edge of the targeted sand pile, hit the brake and start turning/rotating the excavator left and right. At some point you find the sweet spot where the option message to pick up the sand appears on screen. It may take a little fiddling around, finding the right spot in the rotation till the message appears solidly and stays on screen (not just briefly flickering on and then right off). If you don't even get a flicker of the message or the message stubbornly refuses to stay lit you may need to reposition the excavator and repeat the left/right swing.

If you get it where it should be able to pick sand then exit and reenter, the prompt appears for me.

Left clicking should lower the loader of the bulldozer and allow you to pick up sand. You need to lower the blade then slowly drive the bulldozer into the sand, then right click to bring the bulldozer blade back into the upright position. Dump the sand off at the dump off site. This usually takes more than one trip to completely remove the sand.
I haven't played the original since the expansion was released so this information could be wrong.
If all else fails use the reset button at your gas station

The way it should works is driving close to the sand until the prompt to hold left mouse button to pick up appears and do so. The bucket stays raised then you go to the sand pit and left click when the prompt to empty sand appears.

At the moment, like the dev said just above, there's a glitch which prevent the prompt (and the ability to pick up sand) to appears correctly unless you wiggle a lot or, my prefered workaround atm, disembark then embark to make it appears.

With that glitch, also came the inability to turn while moving Rudy. It should be fix in the near future.

only at my game, rudy is bugged and cant move left and right ? when you press left he stop instant and turn left or right but waste a lot of fuel ? xD

Same here. Im hanging up this game until (if) it EVER gets fixed. This has been going on far to long..
