Unofficial Known Bugs & Fixes

Hi, I have been within the Drago Community discord since the release date of the Gas Station Simulator. I have noticed a lot of you guys are missing information on currently known bugs and some fixes for common problems within the game due to not being in the discord. I have put together this thread to help bring over information from the discords Bug Reports and Technical Information pages. I will begin with listing all known Bugs that I know of then I will list fixes to some problems you guys may have. The guys at Drago are busy getting the next update ready to be pushed please be patient with them they are a small team after all.

Known Bugs

(In no particular order)

I have tried my best to list as many known bugs that I could but unfortunately, I’m just one man and some will be missed if you guys think of any that I have missed let me know and I will add them to the list. Just so you know the Developers are aware of these and are currently working on the next update removing some so when they get removed I will also update that here. New bugs from the latest updates will be in Bold

• Locked out of Warehouse
  
• No indication when Delivery/Gas arrive
  
• Low amount of customers at Lvl 10
  
• Game freezing during loading
  
• Game beginning to drop frames/lagging after playing for awhile
  
• Saves disappearing after power loss
  
• Physics issues when on the cash register causes items to fly off the conveyor/not registering in the basket
  
• Vehicles becoming stuck on planters near the parking spots
  
• Vehicles Getting stuck on Workshop lifts
  
• Vehicles pathing to the same parking spot, causing jams
  
• Employee get stuck when fuelling cars
  
• NPC mapping causes them to get stuck on placed shelves and decorations
  
• Trash cans dirty when loading a save
  
• Certain decorations/items shrinking or expanding on loading a save
  
• Random decorations/Shelves duping
  
• A few achievements are broken
  
• Worker hats don’t sell
  
• When lock picking it sometimes kicks you out of the mini-game
  
• Unable to lock pick cars that are already spawned when opening a save
  
• Resetting traffic when you have a delivery on route causes two vans to come (one is empty)
  
• Apex physics crashes caused by objects rolling/hitting other objects.
  
• Paint splats from roof unable to be cleaned
  
• Throwing basketballs at the court multiplies sounds.
  
• Changing car battery still makes noise with the sound turned off.
  
• Employee menus can get stuck on your HUD
  
• Employee stuck in resting animation when working
  
• Graphical issues when changing settings.
  
• Rubbish falling through the ground
  
• Some post-game challenges impossible to complete
  
• Reseting traffic makes fuel/delivery trucks empty.
  
• When buying a stock you sometimes hear the sound of it adding but it doesn’t add the item to your cart
  
• Missing items on larger orders
  
• Features tab can become visually bugged after buying all upgrades
  
• Some clipping issues with decorations
  
• Chopper decoration shows as Red Rocket in the Buy and Inventory Screens
  
• Mini-golf ball can go outside the game enclosure and then you can explore everywhere.
  
• Wall inside your room doesn’t paint fully after upgrading the Warehouse
  
• Warehouse corners paint sometimes changes back to the previous colour.
  
• Some walls are hard to reach when painting.
  
• The second warehouse door sometimes is still open. (Happens when you are closing it too fast and the truck isn't out). This is a visual bug. The door is actually closed.
  
  

  Fixes to some issues

  
  I will list a few fixes I have found to work again I will miss some but if you guys help out I will add them to the list. I will not be liable for any you try that’s on you.
  
  
  1. Game frozen on Loading screen/Loading a save - The only real fix here is patience the game can sometimes take a couple of minutes to load, as long as the game is open it will be loading the only time you have a problem is when it closes. Just be patient and wait for it I cannot stress this enough. (Using faster m2’s, SSD’s, etc. lowers the load times if you have it saved on an external drive try putting it on your c: drive see if it helps.)
     
     
  2. Game stuttering, Laggy or Low Frames - I thankfully haven’t seen this issue but from the discussions, I see that the trusty red button helps this issue give it a go.
     
     
  3. Game crashes(closes) on loading a save - The only advice I can give here is to join the discord and send your save folder (\AppData\Local\GSS2\Saved or \Steam\steamapps\common\Gas Station Simulator\GSS2\Saved) to the Devs they will look into the data and see what is causing the issue this will help them implement fixes.
     
     
  4. Saves Disappearing after power loss - Open your save folder with game saves. 2. Start the game. 3 press “New Game”. 4. Wait for the new Autosave to appear. 5. Remember the name, delete that save, rename your “The Second most recent autosave” to that name. 6. Exit the game. 7. Launch the game again, and you should be able to load your game
     
     
  5. Cars Flipped over or stuck on a wall etc. - Uses the Broom in your inventory to help the vehicle out be careful not to move your mouse too fast as you will end up sending the vehicle to the next town. It is the most useful tool you have
     
     
  6. No vehicles coming to your Garage/Fuel Pumps/Workshop - The vehicle that was appointed that spot will have gotten stuck up the highway to fix this press the red button on your Garage Open/Closed Sign.
     
     
  7. Employee Stuck at Pump - This usually happens during a sandstorm. Quick tip use Rudy to move the sand fast. Then hit F5 to autosave and right after F9 to load the autosave! This will get the worker to reset/unstuck!
     
     
  8. Certain decorations/items shrinking or expanding on loading a save - The only quick and easy fix for this is either picking up the decoration and replacing it down to reset it to its default state or if it is an item placing it back on to the shelf/Bin
     
     
  9. Locked out of Warehouse - Look for the keys hanging from the hanger/Wall at your gas station(Should be across from your Till), pick them up and you should be able to open the warehouse
     
     
  10. Some achievements not completing - The Devs did implement fixes to some achievements but they don’t unlock retroactively (Should be fixed in the next Update) so to complete them you could backup your save files then completely empty the 'SavedGames' folder this will allow you to start a new game and unlock achievements previously broken. (The following are still broken. First Tip, Gaining Skill, Tip of the Iceberg, Mining Shaft!, Jack of all Trades and Secret Achievement (Time lower than 1.02 on the first RC race)) Again you could just wait for a fix to be implemented if you don’t want to start a new game or would have trouble backing up your saves.
  
  

  Fixed Bugs

  • Mini-golf gives you infinite money.
    
  • Employees Get stuck in Warehouse.
    
  • Sandstorms not spawning sand piles.
    
  • Sparks on the cables after loading a saved game.
    
  • Some achievement fixes. (Not all.)
    
  • Game freezes on loading save. (not loading screen freezes.)
    
  • Vehicle hood stays open when an employee works in Workshop.
    
  • Large car part orders missing items.
    
  • Spark plug stand only hold 8 items.
    
  • Workshop lift button can be double-tapped to finish the task without completing it.
    
  • Lock picking challenge reward can be given multiple times after it has been completed.
    
  • NPC's “flying” around the gas station in a sitting position.
    
  • Rudy's location and Fuel supply resets on load
    
  • Sunglasses stand faces the wrong way
    
    
    

    Conclusion

    
    Again I stress I am but one man trying to help you all out and will have missed plenty of things that I will add and also let the Developers know about if it is new. The information written here is my work and is in no way associated with Drago themselves. I will not be liable for any problems you occur from trying any of the fixes. These are fixes I have found in-game and online not from the Team themselves. Special thanks to Belmos for helping to gather the bugs I missed.

I have a bug, that, inside the gas station selling room, there is a puddle of paint, which i cant remove (paint stain from the roof)

I have found a couple bugs, I have a dirt stain that went through the floor so my dirt level is stuck at never being full. On the conveyor belt picking up an item sometimes throws the item behind it off the belt even if they are not touching. Also Denis not making any sounds, twice so far I have been inside the building and he has fully tagged and run away with no sounds he was ever there.

yeah. sometimes the AI gets bugged after upgrading things. have you tried the reset button on the dust bowl gas station sign?

should be good after you do that if you ever have problems with no vehicles coming either to the fuel pumps or workshop the red button will fix it.

Issues I have noticed!

1: If your shelfs are not active such as in your inventry and you answer the phone to get food and soft beverages from Uncle you don't get any products, thus if you had the money to pay-off the impossible loan you cannot pay it as the checkout mini=game does not happen therefore the pay loan tab also does not happen.

2: The Mini golf game add $10 each time you hit the goal line regardless how many shots you took to get the ball there, you should restrict to a Par Two, although you can hit the goal line in a single shot should win $25 three shots or more you loose credit, there should be say a five minute delay before playing again.

Update: after further testing I now confirm that if you hit goal in seven shots or less you get $10.

3: With the Mini-golf ball it is very easy to go outside the game enclosure and then you can explore even the out of bounds areas with no time limit and eventually fall off edge of the world!

4: At the checkout queue in the demo NPC's move from right to to left, however in the Prelude and full game the NPC's move Left to right and after being served move right to left most of the time a few exit out rear exit!

5: In patch #3: the fuel and warehouse storage was limited to 200.00, until almost level 4 it increased to 350.00.

6: The autosave is about every 4 minutes and cannot be turned off.

7: There is no way to turn off the tutorial and goal boxes appearing on the right side of the screen "Challenges, Current tasks; Answer the phone!".

8: The amount of fuel each car wants is a random number between 6.60 and 20.00, may be it needs to be increased to 50.00.

9: If the game shuts down immediately after launching the game; the game needs a cpu that supports both AVX and SSE 4.1 it is required for the Epic Games UE4 game engine that this game was built upon, CPU's that support AVX[en.wikipedia.org] and Cpus that support SSE4.1[en.wikipedia.org].

SSE4.1 was introduced by Intel in 2006, however the 1st Intel cpu to support AVX was in February 2011, AMD's 1st cpu's to support both AVX and SSE4.1 was AMD FX (Bulldozer) introduced in November 2011.

My AMD Phenom II X6 1100T which was the cpu prior to the FX series that I bought new in 2012 only supports SSE4a an AMD subset that is incompatable with SSE 4.1 this cpu dates back to a 2006 design and was on sale from 2010 until 2014.

Update: after further testing I now confirm that the game has already been patched for AVX thus AVX is a non issue, however with my AMD Phenom II X6 1100T cpu I could install and play to main menu, alter controls, but the game crashed back to the desktop without error when i clicked either "New Game" and or "Continue", that cpu does not have the full SSE 4.1 subset, I have also learned that certain Intel budget cpus and Xeon server cpus don't have SSE 4.1 subset either even up to 2017!

10: If your game is stuttering with low frame rates you can the reduce the resolution down to 1024 x 768 found in the Options: Display.

Update: Most people run the game at 1920 x 1080 resolution or higher, just by reducing the resolution down to 1024 x 768 can make the game less jerky also reducing the actual video fuctions can also improve the game.

11: Under Patch #3: The game has a memory leak and you can improve the crashes if you have more memory 12gb - 32gb than normal also deleting all the savegames every 20 minutes can increase the likly hood that the game may not crash for hours!

System specification: That I am currently running Gas Station Simulator.
Windows 7 x64 DirectX 11.0.
Mainboard: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AM3+.
Ram: Kingston 16GB DDR3 (2x 8GB).
CPU: AMD FX 8350 AM3+, 4000 mhz, (4 core, 8 threads) 125W.
Video: XFX Radeon RX 590 8GB, 1580mhz Core, 2000mhz Memory, 256bit Interface,
Hdd: 1024GB Sata SSD (boot), Pioneer BDR-212EBK Blu-ray ReWriter.
Display: Iiyama G-Master GB2760QSU 2540 x 1440 @ 144hz 27 Inch widescreen
PSU and Case: Thermaltake Toughpower 850W modular, Antec P180 mid tower.

I've only had very minor issues with the game, one specific one that keeps hitting me is the garbage can just inside the entrance to the gas station, when I use the bag on it, it drops through the floor, but besides that everything else is working good, fueling, car repair, checkout stand, and warehouse been working great for me
