Prometheus map with caves and exotic spawns?
I tried to avoid posting but I can't find the info I'm looking for. Does anyone know of a map that shows caves with exotic spawns? I know all the spawn locations on the other 2 maps, but this one is new to me. I found a partially uncovered map but that's about it. Thanks for any help.

If you're talking about the small boulders of exotics, the ones the same size as iron/oxite/sulfar nodes, then those are completely random. If there are caves that never have them appear, I've never bothered to track them.

If you're talking about the overland locations of either purple or red exotics, then use icarusintel. On prometheus, there are 168 possible locations for them. You can't do that stuff where you just run between 6 possible spawn points, like you can do in other missions on the other maps.

On prometheus, you will need a radar. Unless you want to run and physically check all 168 locations.

I'm talking about the nodes inside of the caves open world. On the other 2 maps they seem to always be the same caves that spawn them. Maybe Prometheus is completely random then?

This is the information I found from the wiki:

"Open World
In open worlds, three deposits are present on each map (at least one deposit will be ITEM Volatile Raw Exotics Volatile Raw Exotics on Prometheus) with a potential yield of 100 to 300. Minable exotic nodes can be found in open worlds.

If there are empty deposits with no extractors attached, an exotics meteor event will occur, which clears previous radar scans, removes empty deposits, and creates new deposits elsewhere. The exotics meteor event occurs every 3 hours of prospect time (on the 3-hour mark since the start time of your 'Time on Prospect' ie 3, 6, 9, etc) if the above criteria are met. To view your "Time on Prospect," press 'I' and the time will be indicated below the list of detailed statistics on the right. Mineable exotic nodes have a 10% chance of appearing in standard caves (those with Caveworms/Bees) every three hours, regardless of whether a meteor event occurs."

I have been finding them in almost every cave and they are respawning regularly, also found an actual deposit, so they are active in Open World Prometheus as well. Haven't found any of the Red deposits yet, but have only checked 2 sites so far.

The exotic voxels you hand mine in caves have a 10% chance to spawn and respawn one voxel in each cave I believe every 3 hours. That means eventually every cave will have one, and every cave you mine them out of will eventually respawn them. This is a pretty slow way to gather exotics.

If you're up to the biofuel tech level it's more lucrative to just search for and extract the full exotic nodes. Here's my guide on the topic: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3121617137
