Icarus
Low Performance/Frames?
Am I the only one? I'm running an i9 with a RTX 4080 and get less than 60 frames on average with dropped frames every few seconds down to the single digits. It's completely unplayable.

This definitely shouldn't be the case on a rig like that - jump into our Discord (https://discord.gg/surviveicarus) and chat to some of our veteran community members, they should be able to help you out. Some of the devs hang out there too!

Same here, came back after a while. Even with Frame Generation this game has really low fps.

You are likely talking about open world play. Open world was an an addition because the game was not selling only with its mission-style base gameplay. People want open world survival games.
But because the world was designed to reset after each mission it starts dropping in performance when you play open world because there is too much data stored. Every rock you mined, every ore node, every tree you cut down, it starts adding up and the game is constantly checking this data which makes the game stutter even on beast PCs.

It is just bad code and not likely to be fixed because they would have to redesign the map engine.
Thanks guys, in that case, I won't be buying any DLC's, and now kinda regret buying the game :/ I bought it for the open world survival aspect but if it is not being fixed, then what's the point?
I would have thought that,"removing" items from the map, the game would speed it up, due to less rendering, and surely objects in the world and their location, is a matter of, True or False? Thus changing only one word in the coding? Base building, especially "Lights", are the only thing that should really impact the game?

In addition to this, On inspection, I have found out that the game is using more of my RAM than it is of my GPU and CPU - My GPU is far from a beast, but it is running @ 37*C and 300-500 MHz, which is shameful! The only reason it goes above 300MHz, is because I tweaked my card to do so - All other games I play, even Enshrouded, look great, work awesome, and are twice as fast. Icarus graphics in comparison, are blurred and glitchy and that's with everything turned down or off, shrunken and windowed, the AMD graphics support does not even seem to work, in fact, it's better with it off, I get 1FPS extra :/

Don't get me wrong, the game is rather epic but at 5-15FPS I started a fresh game, and that was much better but by the time I had built my base and filled it with essential, I was back to square one :/ - No DLC's for me until the game actually uses my GPU, if it ever does :/

I don't think it really just because of the reset, before this update, I was facing totally the same problem in open world game play, while playing with only 10~20 FPS, and whenever storms came, the FPS would only be about 3-6, and the solution suggested from community is to open a dedicated server, and everything become very well, no more FPS drop, I could have around 40~70 FPS in game. But just right after the update, the bugs came out again, while playing with only 10~20 FPS, and whenever storms came, the FPS would only be about 3-6, but this time, is in the dedicated server, and the only thing shown on the list of update which closely related to this situation is the client performance update, spreading from only single-play or main server to all client and players.
One interesting thing is that, my friend who always play with me also examine similar bugs as me this time.
By the way, my computer setup is far worst than those 40 NVIDIA card series, hopefully may not be the same bugs at all.

The game has a massive memory leak issue.

Don't worry :D

was gonna suggest some friends to buy this game but since the only good part of this game, the open world, is dogwater because of the stuttering and constant frame dropping, im not gonna bother suggesting this game to anyone.
My PC Config with screenshots, FPS count and number of built elements for comparison with your settings.
Naturally, there are no such low FPS, you obviously have some problems with your PC.

This game requires 32
ram, 5800х3d rtx 4080 32 gb, 150 avg fps
only in a house where there are many buildings 80 avg fps

I found that the lower my setting, the worse it played :/ I could gain 10 FPS simply by turning the settings to epic! - I have since upgraded MOBO, RAM and CPU, now it plays smooth as. It does seem, however, that the Unreal Engine itself, is known for its "Stuttering", even on the beefiest machines.

I've got a 5800x (not 3d), 32 ram, and a 1660 'super' - which can't do fancy stuff to begin with, so I run in dx11 mode and am happy with frame rates at standard HD res. I get micro-loading stutters that many type about when your open world gets a little built up, but overall I'm happy with it.
