In addition, just in case, if you have two pets, make them two feeders and water bowls.
Are you keeping them inside, away from predators and weather, or letting them roam around?
Did you allow enough room for them to reach the food and water? They can and often do block each other from reaching them if they're not placed in a good position. If you have a lot of them, make sure your barn is big and has more than one spot for everyone to eat from, and that the troughs are in the open where many animals can reach them.
Other than that, I can't think of what might be the problem.
