Nullsector question

I was wanting to know if I would have to be starting a new world when the Nullsector update releases, or if I could continue my Prometheus save and the update will automatically be applied. Thank you.

As far as I understand, it will be possible to continue the existing world. A new part of the map will simply appear and that's it.

Id love to know will the new area be north or south on the map as i want to start a game now and build up and get ready :P
