Shouldn't a headshot with an arrow be an instant kill? Same for heart?
I've put 7 arrows into the head of this fox before it died. I think this might be a bug, no?

even the pump shot gun takes a few head shots to kill a animal
Fox? They added foxes in the latest update? Which map? I am curious and wish to at least get a screenshot of these foxes.

Snow fox. Been in the game for a while. Skulls pretty thick. Hunting better off aiming for the lungs but this game gives you crits for headshot rather than instant kill. Shoot a bear in the head with an arrow irl and you just gonna piss it off

I have never seen one these. Admittedly, I do not ever stick around in the arctic biomes long enough to find the smaller animals. Now I have a reason to! Thanks!

The polar bears I either shoot to death with my max'd hunting rifle or run awaaaaay.

i have not seen any of the new animals in this game yet.
i can see the bears cause that happens in real life you can shoot a bear in the head with a high powered rifle and the bullet will bounce off and your going to piss it off

Most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. You've been reading too much fiction. A high powered rifle can very much penetrate the thick skull of a bear. Yes, it CAN deflect bullets, but to say that it's GOING to bounce off if shot in the head is just silly. Besides, there are other reasons hunters don't aim for the head when hunting bear, and that's because they want the head intact for a trophy.
I have a pack of tamed wolves that follow me on aggressive. I usually don't have to attack anything, just harvest the pile of bodies they create. Even the boss fights, giant worms, not a problem.

that's a pretty good idea. Think I'll try that one someday.
