Exotics Deposits open world (olympus)

Hellivers, ODSTs, and Prospectors, is there a way to use the electrical powered drills to mine exotics on Olympus open world? I've searched a larger area and am still trying to find out. I haven't been able to play for the past 8-9 months so loving the updates but figuring new things out.

You need the extractor to mine exotic node not the drill.

Yes, Exotics are available on the Open World maps. They respawn 3 hours after a deposit is fully extracted with a meteor shower event. The exotics in caves respawn as well on a separate timer, but with a 10% chance per node. So if you wait long enough every cave is going to have exotics in it.

I can't tell from your post if the "larger area" you've searched was the internet for info on if exotics were available in open world or you searched Olympus looking for exotic deposits.
