Icarus
Can't start my open world prospect
I've been happily playing this on my dedicated server for several weeks without any major issues. Today for some reason, I can't get into the game. It freezes on the "geometry" screen. My character is level 38. Interestingly if I use another character. It loads fine. Restarting the game server and rebooting my pc doesn't help. Is it possible that the character file is somehow corrupted, and if so, can it be remedied? Thanks on advance, Mike

The only thing I can write is: try to wait and ‘move’ your character by pressing ‘WASD’.

Didn't help but appreciate the response. I've tried to get in again this morning and after a little wait, I'm back in.
Lesson lerrnt: NEVER attempt to play on 2nd February!
How long did you "actually" wait...?
To declare^ the session "frozen"...?
As long as there is "loading" activity sounds...

It^ should be fine :)
Be patient...
Wait^...
Yeah, may have been a random glitch. It's one of those things that makes me grunt out "computers" and shrug. Glad to hear it was resolved.

You have auto-saves you could try loading back into. They are found here:

C:\Users\[WindowsUserName]\AppData\Local\Icarus\Saved\PlayerData\[SteamID#]\Prospects\

If the autosave doesn't work another thing you can try is to remove that character from the prospect so you can rejoin. You'll lose all the gear he was carrying but it's up to you.

Head to your prospect file. Make a backup copy somewhere else. Then open it up with a text editor and find the "AssociatedMembers" section.

I personally haven't done this so I'm not sure which process will work, but there is a line "IsCurrentlyPlaying" you can change from true to false. I believe that will remove your from the map, allowing you to rejoin it. If that doesn't work you can try deleting the whole section for that character.

Be mindful of the syntax and make sure the brackets all get closed properly. I think from the { to the } should work.

had a very similar issue recently.
Try switching between DX 11 and DX 12,
or changing the settings on "shadows" related stuff slightly then logging back in.
This fixed the issue for me.
I also made sure all my drivers were up to date, then did a system clean and restart, then I switched back to DX 12 and it's still running fine.
