Hammerhead Slug
Here are some notes on the Slug,
With a 2 man running obsidian and Cold ammo.
Over 400 bullets fired and 300 arrows with compound bow.
We built a 3x3x3 base out of concrete and surrounded it with landmines and Hedgehogs.

We started off splitting the slug first then bringing it closer to the base to utilize the hogs and mines.
1 of the 2 slugs slammed the base and broke all the concrete in 1 hit. The acid spit blew up all the mines before it got close enough to matter.

So we moved back around the hogs and broke it down to the 3rd set and focused the low heath small ones.
We killed over 20 of the babies and it kept regenerating health and recombining no matter how hard we hit and how much we focused each batch.
We left with broken armor, weapons and morale and the thing was still regenerating health.

Notes:
The thing moves to fast for how tanky it is, and the acid attack with slowing debuff is way to much for how often it fires.
Its melee damage: 1 shotting an entire 3x3x3 of concrete with supports is insane.
The pods when it recombines have to much health.
It splits from 1 to 2 to 4 to 8 to 16, that is to much.
If i kill the small ones it should take away from its max health and ability to recombine that portion. (it was recombining as solo slugs most of the fight and regenerating health faster than we could take it.)

This thing needs some work and i will not be attempting it again until some changes happen, its just not worth the resources and frustration.

TLDR:
To tanky
To fast
To much building damage
Acid attack to frequent
Slow is terrible to deal with
Splitting to much
Recombining to much
Recombining pods to tanky to stop
Health doesnt degrade when i kill small ones

They split into 3 each time you kill it to degrade it from large - > med - > small.

The bestiary says they are weak to melee except that they swarm you and each hit takes 20-33% of your health bar (at full food buff).

There's a lot of bugs the whole fight. I played it with friends on a dedicated server in multiple fights and it continuously spawns more and more medium ones (despite killing out the small ones) for no reason out of no where. It grew to 21+ mediums at which the server got so laggy it just crashed. This was poorly thought through and not ready for release,

Also to add, in my experience pods were taking 0 damage. Probably server lag, but hitting them with fire/explosives gave a 0 damage number.

use explosive ammo, obsidian ammo and grenades.
use an anti poison pill before the fight.

you might find things a bit easier.

boss is solid cheesy trash, as bad as Fader in Valheim.
