Reducing Lag
When I played Conan online with a full server, we made one change that reduce lag and shudder a ton, simple increased Stack sizes so people did not have to have 5000 containers in their bases or 4 or five 300 slot vaults. When this was done we saw a Dramatic drop in base load ins and general lag around big bases. I mean I have storage everywhere just for Aluminum. Please test this on your test server. :steamhappy:

If you mean to ask if lowering the amount of storage cabinets in your base will reduce lag, then technically yes it will. Same as reducing base size and the number of other deployables. Nothing really needs to be tested for that. The real question is why don't you just reduce the number of cabinets you use if you think they are causing you lag?

Why do you store so much? Throw it out if you're not going to feasibly use it and you think it's causing lag. There's no constant drain on resources so there's no reason to horde massive amounts. It's all free and infinite resources (made of 1s and 0s so no physical value) you can get anytime you actually need it. Once you've crafted your kit and built your base there's nothing to spend resources on except ammo.

You don't have to literally throw it out. Use it to craft stuff for XP and then delete the stuff to get half back to craft some more. Basically turning all your excess resources into XP.

I have a cabinet for each resource and I set up electric deep miners on every resource type. Then I use the hopper on the miner as my "Oh, I need some extra _____ today." Even that is kind of overkill in my opinion but it fits nicely in my workshop which lets me build whatever I need whenever I need it.
