SMPL3 Quest Desert Boars Crazed Beast issues?

The quest seems to be bugged. The directions state that you are to go to the desert biome highlighted area and kill the crazed beast...(singular)
Unfortunately, when you arrive at the location (E15) all that is different is that there are groups of Boars (4-5 per group) that you seemingly have to kill. After killing the groups...(about 20 boars), they begin to respawn and you repeat what you just did. After killing about 300 of them, I got the feeling that something that should be happening, wasn't. Did I not kill enough of them? Or is it bugged? Anyone that can shed light on this would be appreciated. I have to admit, the bacon is nice, but there was no...(crazed beast) to kill. I eventually gave up and Abandoned the quest. I don't know if if makes a difference, but I was in Coop with my partner at the time.
