Sorry I have to retract my comment , Upon closer examination the cake recipe is not affected when wearing the backpack. Booooooooo Devs
Yeah, that was my experience, too. I have a feeling this is an oversight. I'm going to go back and make each ingredient with the backpack on. The crunchy bacon was affected. I can see the changes in the modifiers between crunchy bacon cooked with the backpack on versus crunchy bacon without the backpack. Butter obviously has no modifier. I haven't made bread yet with the backpack on, so I'm going to try that.
But the fruit sorbet, fruit muffin, and strawberry jam are all affected. And like was already pointed out, the watermelon and strawberry candies are affected.
Also, this is no surprise, really, because it makes complete sense, but the items don't stack when made with the backpack versus without. So it's really easy to tell even without looking at the modifiers whether it worked or not.
As someone who really enjoys the food system, I think it's a wonderful addition. Not earth changing or anything, but it makes the game more fun for me. I feel confident they're going to add cakes and the bacon sandwich as modified by the backpack in future updates.
Same, I'm having fun maxing out melee attack speed.
If they ever do another double xp event it’s going to be insane!
That’s my guess, too. It’s the newer food types.

Thanks. I had forgotten about their bug report website. I followed up your report with some info on the limited testing of the recipes I had done.
