I would make them "risky" to use...
"Durability" wear on the "line"...
I imagine zip lines must be "manufactured"...
Not^ "crafted"...
What can you expect from a "crafted" zip line...?
It may "snap"...! :D LOL
Consider the "complications" with zip line design...
- "Shallow" and "short" = "relatively" safe "speed"...
- "Steep" and "long" = "relatively" dangerous "speed"...
- How much "weight" can it bear before "snap"...?
I can't imagine a "prospector" jumping onto a zip line...
With^ "350"Kg of "ore"...
See^ how it can get "complicated"...?
In my opinion,
"Zip lines" belong in "cartoon" games...
Like "fortnite"...
That means you've already reached where you want to go.
So, then you go back, and use the zipline? To back where you were already.
WAIT! I get it, I saw this in a three stooges episode, where they climbed though a window to unlock a door, only to go back OUT the window and then walk in through the door. Makes poifect sense there guvnah.
Plat weave + Composites or something every 5 meters.
More composites for the anchor and a container with a weight limit on it.
A good way to avoid extra hard cheesing is having people empty their inventories into crates(hard weight limit) that precrafted and retrieved at the end of the line before they send themselves down.
T5 could be just straight space age materials with full blown hauling everywhere.
I can see zip lining "resources" only...
NOT^ for "prospector" travel...
I imagined a "prospector"...
Setting up some local "zip lines" ...
From^ point "A" to point "B"...
Point "A" being a "resource" site...
Point "B" being near a "common" load off point near "base camp"...
"Crafting" a zip line "cart" at point "A"...
I imagined a "prospector"...
Running around with a "Moa"...
Visiting^ drill "nodes"...
Loading the zip line "carts" with "ore" to send "down"...
Wait...
There is a problem...
How to get the zip line "cart" back up to point "A"...?
After^ delivery...?
"Meh"...
My "prospector" may stick to "tames" for "resource" rounds...
Addition:
Instead of a "cart" to send "down" the zip line...
Maybe a disposable "bag" of some sort...
"Crafted"^ at point "A"...
I thought of something funny... :)
Sending down a "bag"...
With "350"Kg of "ore"...
It would be like sending down a high speed BOULDER...! :D
How to stop that "momentum"...?! :D LOL
"CRASH"...!!!
"What was that"...? o0
Using "binoculars" >> ---
There's a BIG HOLE in the SHELTER...!
Yeh its a silly idea, its not like anyone ever goes back to the same place twice.
