It's "easy" to level in this game :)
You will eventually receive enough tech points to buy every single recipe in the game.
There’s beer. Should be right next to wine. I think either mead or honey products is next to that. But that’s from memory.
I recommend killing everything you come across in the beginning of the game, assuming you start in the beginning forest. Wolves are especially lucrative XP wise. Cook any prime meat you get for an easy XP bonus. Build a dry rack and dry out meat so it lasts longer. If you hold down F while you’re running around you’ll quickly grab anything you run over. That gives you small amounts of XP.
The nice thing about thatch is that it’s so cheap. It’s helpful to carry around ramps, especially in caves, to access areas that are otherwise unavailable. At this point I would t get it for any new character I start. It’s just as easy to carve out a safe spot in a large rock if a storm comes along. But there are uses for it. No big deal.
Misspending talent points creates a lot more angst for me, even if they can be respecced.
