Harvesting exotics.

Just ran into exotics on the map on accident. What do I need to harvest them? Seem they maybe let you buy starting gear?

For Exotics Deposits you need biofuel or electric Extractor.

Not the exotics deposits, the big stone cracked circles on the ground that glow purple. Need placed machinery to mine those.

The big deposits need to have "extractors" placed there. Don't confuse them with the deep vein miners, those are different and won't extract exotics.

There are small boulders in some caves that are made out of exotics. They're the same size as oxite and sulfur you'd find on the open surface. They can be mined with a pickaxe. They will give roughly 30 exotics. The exact amount depends on the quality of the pick.


And if you play on prometheus, there's also a whole new kind of exotics called red exotics.

The come from mutated trees.

Dead dried out trees with no leaves. The trunks look like a can of frozen biscuits that have been twisted open. The insides are full of red bubbles, like the inside of a pomegranate. They require a different extractor to "mine". Looks like a circular track with a robot arm that circles the tree over and over, cutting the red exotics out of the tree.

Red exotics can't be used as is, they have be processed and cleansed with a tier 4 bit of machinery. But the qty of red exotics gets doubled as it's cleansed.

Got it. I am walking by the deposit near the C2 cave a couple of times. Looks like that needs a machine.
