Most of the rest of the creatures you can't ride are mainly decorative, like dogs and cats. Just deploy them inside your base and leave them. For cows and chickens, I built my greenhouse/coral first and deployed them straight inside right from the cryogenic capsules.
Then they need to build a stables at the lower elevation. Or... they picked a bad base location. Where I have my base up against the cliffs on the east side of the grasslands, I normally run up a set of steps if coming from the north or south. But there's still a normal way to reach it from the west.
In addition to non-ridable mounts, this affects tamed boars. If you build a barn/platform for tames that is even slightly elevated, the boars aren't able to get onto it due to their inability to use ramps.
william_es does a great job of contributing to the community, especially helping newer players with issues that come up. I didn’t see him victim blaming as much as offering the solution he’s found.
You are right on with boars. It’s an issue for me, too. To be honest, it’s an issue regardless of ramps. I have food troughs and water troughs interspersed throughout their enclave. Sometimes they’ll eat. Sometimes they won’t. My solution has been to make sure I feed them and give them water before heading out. Which is less than ideal, but it’s my workaround.
Pathing for creatures has a lot of issues. It makes working with animals a pain in many ways, but I still enjoy it so much, so I put up with the grievances.
But yeah, boars not being able to go up ramps or stairs is a problem for sure.
