Building
Why is the building so inconsistant with durability? roof is giving me head aches , pieces side by side with same structual integrity don't match !!??? wtf

does it have the same support!!?? wtf. Are you adding central columns to support the roof, ya know, like they do in real life!!??, wtf. Try some of these techniques, wtf.

To be fair, it is a little inconsistent sometimes. I was just putting up thatch scaffolding in a cave to mine, and i put 2 half stair peices to go up to a wall. First was blue, other was yellow. No problem. Did the exact same thing, first one was blue, since it is touching the floor, and the second i tried to place broke immediately like it had no support even though the piece it was attached to was blue.

Some "objects" you see in caves aren't solid. You can walk on them, but building parts can't be attached to them. Seen that plenty of times. I assume it was something similar causing the issues.

Nah, it was absolutely registering as solid ground, otherwise the first piece would have broken. When you place a building part on ground, it shows blue signifying that it has as much support as physically possible. Snapping another piece to a "blue" piece in no circumstances should break like that. It was just being glitchy. But whatever, wasnt a big deal. Picked the piece up, placed it again and suddenly it worked again.

Be fine with me if there was an option to turn off structural integrity. Not looking to be a game structural engineer, only want to have some fun building.

I agree. Unless there's some kind of base attack horde mode, why do we need structural integrity? It's never accurate. Most games handle each vertical column as a standalone structure, which is.... not how things work in reality. If you knock a hole in a wall, you don't cause everything above it to instantly collapse straight down to the ground. Yet that's how it's handled in many games. Goofy.

When in doubt use foundations
