I think there is another option in the machinist bench, but honestly can't remember right now.
T2 - Leather Curtains, Reinforced Windows
T3 - Glass Windows, Heavy Glass Windows, Reinforced Glass Window, Aluminium Windows, Steel Barred Windows
The T3 items are in the machining bench or the glass working bench.
Aluminum are dull grey, and swing upwards (hinge on top edge of the window), and get propped open by a small rod.
Steel barred windows have main blonde wood (like pine), with black wrought iron rods and curlicues on the outer side. They split in the middle and swing outwards to both sides IIRC.
Maybe it's just not as obvious as I though it was, but the Field Guide has an item section now. You can search by name and it will give you the details on what materials it needs and where it can be crafted. It will also give you a picture of the item so you don't have to guess if you've got the right one. Clicking on the recipe icons also switches you between the relevant pages.
You can access the field guide in game while the world goes on around you via hotkey -- check your keybindings for what yours is set to, I want to say the default is J. Or you can access it at the character select screen. When you're given the four options to Resume, New, Load, or Join in the top left corner are a bunch of icons and one is the field guide.
They've restructured the tech tree...
You may need to "unlock" it again...
Remember:
You can only "unlock" tech while on the surface of Icarus...
You may only "view" the tech tree while in the lobby...
Aluminum is metal. But it's also really ugly and super weak.
But other then steel bars on the wood doors, there's nothing higher. Nothing made out of solid metal or composite. No security or vault doors.
