Official Discord Registration- NOPE, Ill Pass. NOT SAFE

Why, oh why, would a video game dev team want my discord password to be tossed between its most random staff members and available for all associated discord admins to see and share?

I was a member of the community a while back. it seems i got kicked with a new mandate to provide my password to them. Maybe it is innocent. perhaps all the associated staffs are pure, saintly, and genuine... Until one isn't. There is a large market for password data and personal information and especially for chargeable account information- all of which can be found with my discord password. So which one of those reasons do you need it for?

Help me understand how this dev team keeps my passwords safe or perhaps help me understand the logic in providing anyone other than ABSOLUTELY NO ONE ELSE an account password to a team that is not even associated with the platform they want access to, AND is not legally obligated to my personal security? I'm a little confused as to when that became a safe practice.

phone numbers- okay whatever. Passwords- nah, ill pass. AND SO SHOULD EVERYONE ELSE. NOT SAFE. If you have already given your password- go change it. now. like seriously- right now.

I just joined the discord from the main menu, it did not ask me for my password. Are you sure you were logged into Discord when you tried to join? Only time I've have to log in to join a server is when I was logged out.

yeah never asked me for my password, only when i wasnt logged into discord is when ive ever been asked to login

yes and no, sorry for delay, i did see ya'll then and eventually figure it out. I was logged out but everything was showing me logged in. I'm not sure why that happened. if was the application not seeing me logged in or some level of disconnect logging me out during the process. I went ahead and just gave the password as requested and just changed it to be cautious.

It might be appropriate to delete this thread as the title and first post really suggest bad intentions from devs where there is none.
