A pause function may ruin the survival experience.
I mean, A bear doesn't say "time out" if your about to kill it.
If they do decide to put in a pause function it would be only available when not in combat.
I disagree, I think if it’s offline, pause would work perfectly fine. A bear will stop just fine mid charge. Dying and not being there would ruin the survival aspect of the game. Having to load in every time you get back from a brief bathroom break would ruin the survival aspect of the game. Why would pause make any difference? Except for convenience. It’s less convenient for the player in the current state.
Agreed, its a game.
With most of the offline features being trimmed to minimal it seems like a good time to add in a feature that should never be absent from something that isn't entirely online.
It just may be that you are too busy to actually sit down and enjoy it.
Scheduling time to play the game may work better instead of a pause function.
Or...........people can live the lives they have without having to worry that a game needs scheduling of all things.
It's truly about Hard core players wanting a game that is exclusively hard. Bragging Rights is what they want. Catering to these kinds of players have destroyed many games. Servers get shut down or they barley make enough money to keep the servers open.
Seen it many times. Darkfall comes to mind. Tarkov's days are numbered as well.
The open world was a good step to give players more options, Broadened their customer base. I am sure I am not the only player who recently came to the game due to the release of the open world.
