okay fine, but i cant enter the desert its a mission in the forest where i need to farm cooked meat and farm berries etc. what i do xD

You can buy farming packet in the station workshop. After that you just have to grow your squashes in crop plots.

HA. yes. this is where they force you to purchase something you wouldnt normally need to just to complete a mission that has specific requirements, but does not provide ability without a forced purchase. sounds about right.

In the last patch notes, they said they moved all squash to the desert. But I question the logic behind this decision. Was squash overpowered or something? What exactly are they trying to balance with this?

IIRC, Agriculture Stockpile no longer requires squash.

They should have left the squash alone and just added another fruit to the desert. Something you could get from the cactus. It doesn't really make sense that the moved the squash to the desert considering it likely broke more things than it resolved.

EDIT: Also to note: the numbers have changed. we now need to send up in pod (I think the change is mostly for the Hunting Shipment):

300 Berries

100% agreed. Arctic now has mushrooms finally. Don't think we find those elsewhere. Desert has cactus and aloe which when you are hovered over them imply you should be getting more than fibers/sticks/tree sap. I understand the complication of adding a whole new fruit, not something you can just throw in, in a week. But I do think that completely moving squash over wasn't the right decision. Now my cooking station that requires pumpkin and squash is useless.

It's one thing to have the workshop veggies to make a rare or hard to find plant in the biome your doing your prospect on, it's another when all/most of the recipies that require squash require 1-2 other veggies from another biome. Can you even do anything with squash without pumpkin or carrots, other than just straight up grilling it?

It's like moving the wild berries to a biome somewhere without watermelons. I don't understand the thinking. They go together. I think I'd have preferred if they were going to do that, they move pumpkins with them. Forest is lush with stuff to make to eat. Desert biome I find myself just eating only animal meat, and maybe fish.

Just rambling now. I dunno. Just seems weird.

Have not started a new one. So it looks the same except for removal of squash I guess.

NO - the drop will start without the squash´es when you have carryes the other fruits

Never found a Squash in the Outpost must be on holiday with the mushrooms someplace. Either that or I'll have to turn my setting way down to look like I'm running a potato. I'm betting my left testicle they removed them so every poor bugger has to buy seeds.
