Workaround => rename the vid in the incarus Folder
You can skip the intro if your PC can load the game fast enough in the background.
Try clicking lmb during the intro and you will find out when you can skip it. I can usually skip it the moment the satellite crosses the screen.
Renaming the files won't change the fact that you will see a black screen just as long until the data is loaded.
Really wish there was an option to disable it in settings.
Well it's not that it's something that makes the game unplayable now is it? Another second or two or waiting is nothing to the time we waste playing computer games anyway.
Each restart of the game also reduces the loading time - here on my system at least.
I know, I know, depending on how they implemented things it might not be so easy, translation, video playback overlay etc. and also this is at least nothing that breaks the game...but it serves well as a stand in for the current state of the game :P
Edit: Also this seems to be fixed next patch according to the current experimental branch patch notes! So it seems it DOES get better :D
Just makes me wonder how fast it might load with no video trying to play.
theres a movie file you can delete and it completely removes it. I forget which one
So i guess this does not actually change anything.
Since i already exactly know at which point of video i can cancel, did it often enough...
Option to disable intro video, and dispaly loading screen instead would be preferred solution.
(My PC is fast enough that i don't care, and can't be bothered to rename video, but i can imagine how frustrating this intro must be for anyone with slower loading PC)
Well done Platoon, you predicted the future freakily accurately. In the latest patch it now says "Press any key to skip" when the game has finished loading.
You're also right that video playback overlays and how the media player works made this seemly simple task a bit more complicated to implement than you'd expect. The media player doesn't talk to the part of the game that's loading, but we've fixed that now.
