Minable (Pickaxe) Exotic Nodes

After doing the exotic ore mining mission (3 times) i have never been able to find an exotic ore deposit in a cave in any other mission.
Definitly 10 to 15 missions and 100+ caves.
Is that normal.
Do they only spawn in specific missions or in all of them???

Don't think they spawn on Outpost type missions.

They are random. I can normally find them without looking too hard...I believe that sometimes they may spawn in bad spots you can't access.

Yeah it's totally random. I don't typically go out of my way to look for them. If I pass a cave I'll usually check it out, but I don't scower the map for them.

I always forget that they are a thing and am pleasantly surprised when i find a few. Last time i found them in 5 caves that were close to eachother. 3 days ago just one cave...

I wasn't sure if they spawned more than one per map.

So is it an RNG chance per cave then? Must be RNG chance per node if you had multiple in one cave and it wasn't an exotic mission or something.

Most likely. 5 caves is the most we found so far. The caves also offer different types of ores every time too so it's looking like an RNG thing.

Ok so i have realy bad luck all the time.
I'm not really looking for it either. I just noticed that in the many days and many caves I have never found an ore deposit.
Friends of mine told me that they occasionally find some, just like you.

They are rare.. We hit every cave in the Advanced Stockpile mission I think we found a total of 5 or 6Nodes... But that gave us a total of 435 I think Exotics

have done both the missions to unlock them on my main toon, but not on my new alt, but I just found a node in a cave on the 7 pillars mission on my alt, so they are random and they're also account wide once the missions unlock them.
The veins are always in the same places as far as I know as well.
Think the most nodes I've found on a map was 3 or 4, other times I've found none.

yes the mission we did also had 2 veins . We do them and hit ALL the caves once we finish the normal mission. so by then we have teh weapons and ammo we want and lots of buff foods..

if depends on what pickaxe you're using, a stone one may only net you 10 ore, but a platinum one will give you 15 > 16
