Bears on scanning missions ..

So i came back playing an easy mission to scan 3 locations and i got to fight 2 f@#ing bears.... very nice fixes the game had in 6 months...

So you have to fight 2 bears so what? Think about it, look around. What can you use to give you an advantage? Rocks that could give you height? Did you forget that if you are crouched you can hit a bear with a stealth shot from your bow and instantly kill it?

I remember that mission I only failed it the very first time. There is a large rock not far from where you put the scanner. You can get up on that with some help. There you can easily deal with the bears with a bow. If memory is right that is the only one with bears the others are wolves. Though more than 2 wolves.

Well , in arctics you will face tens of Polars.
Its only on one scan that you get double beared.

I used a movespeed build , longbow and bone arrows. It takes time to master a bear dance , but It went well after all.

There are thing far worse...
I recently viped my account, doing the same ♥♥♥♥. So I understand how you may be angry about it , but...well, 2 bears is okayish.

2 Polar bears , that spawn on you , during ice storm... meh... less okaish.

The very first time I dealt with 2 bears by building a little construction ladder - some pillars and 4-6 platforms just to make sure you kill bears before they drop your construction.

You only really need 5-6 beams. 2 up, 2 out, and a slanted one (sometimes two) as a ramp to get up. Just sneak (so that you can't fall off) out to the edge and they can't get to you. You can just arrow them from above.

Oh no, there is survival elements in a survival game. The game has been carebeared enough already.

Bears are easy, just shoot them and sidestep, shoot again and keep repeating, you can even use a knife for this. Hope this helps

Don't get discouraged I avoid the bears if I can. When it comes to a scan I back way up and find a place that I can shoot them or make a pole that I can walk up to give me height. Be sure u have enough arrows for both bears then keep shooting until one dies then like Viper said do the sidestep with a knife or bow whichever works. :)

Where is the problem? Normal bear I take out with the bow and bone arrows in one shot. Polar bears need a few more.. But everything can be done without problems.

Keep your distance and wait for them to wander off. Fighting them is strictly optional.

Put a few lit campfires around the scanner, stay far away so they don't aggro on you, and watch everything that comes in burn... (yes, they will actually catch on fire and burn, but you may need multiple fires to make sure they are close enough to one...)

This is the way. Just sit by a campfire while the bears run up, sniff, and then wander off.

Meh... I'm the guy who takes the extra 2 hours to build a stone house and get the hunting rifle, then rush through the actual mission. After getting the exotics vein, too, of course.

I find the missions insanely easy because of that.

Occasionally a friend will drop in and help and it'll go even faster and he shares the payout.

All critters except polar bears drop with one hunting rifle shot. Polar bears will take 2-5 depending on how accurately I hit them while sneaking. Well.... twice now, I think, I've actually dropped the polar bears with a single shot.
