I'm playing almost exclusively as a solo. (I tried a single dedicated server once, but left due to lag issues)

I consider it worth it. It'd be more worth it for a group of friend, sure, but it's still quite good solo.
Alright, does the immersion/ambiance is here when soloing ? Like the music, sounds, the sensation of realy being alone. I had that a lot on some other survival game, and this one seems pretty good to be honest

Oh yes, I agree with BTGbullseye. It is definitely worth it, even for single player. Yes, more fun with group or friend, but I still have a ton of hours in it as solo.

Yep, solo is a blast. The game does a great job of making you feel alone as well...the storms hit hard and the soundscape really enforces the isolation. Very immersive and engaging.

Been doing a lot solo and its good. Theres even a seperate talent tree thats only active when solo that really makes it a lot better too and helps compensate for being alone.

I play exclusively solo. Can't speak to the music as it's always the first thing I turn off when I buy a new game. If I'm in a survival situation the LAST thing I'll be doing is listening to tunes. :D

some of the missions are rather challenging as a solo for sure or much more grindy because you do not have a buddy to help, but I love it solo and with my friend.

I have over a 1000 hours in the game, and almost all of it was solo. I used to hop into other people's games sometimes to help them out (rescue downed prospectors, help people build bases, etc) but most of the time I played solo..

The game is definitely worth the money I paid for it, in entertainment value.

The only issue with solo is if you die miles from your base or spawn point because (talking to new players here) all the items & equipment you have are dropped including the tools and armour you may have purchased with your REN and Exotics; you'll re spawn with nothing at your spawn point apart from any gear you may have stashed there.

You then have to hike back to where you died to pick your stuff up. You lose at least 10 to 15% of the things you were carrying when playing solo. If playing with friends they can revive you with no loss of items, though you'd need to eat to recover your health and treat yourself if you've received wounds as these do not recover when respawning. :really:

Apart from the above, solo is a fantastic experience with the amazing environments and soundscapes; still, I highly recommend playing with friends as well.

You're never solo. The bears are watching from the treeline..

It's worth it if you don't do missions! If you try and do missions alone it's in possible. I have all of the best weapons, ammo, and tools but I cant get the mission Ricochet done to open up the desert. I run back to get my loot from my dead player and just run back to my little camp outside of the desert and run into the Worm king on my back and die. Have to know make all new stuff just to get my old stuff and die.... repeat..... repeat.... repeat. It was the same thing with the polar bears but somehow I got through that!!
I have yet to play this game with anyone. I'm solo forever. It's worth it. An entire world to yourself? Yes please. The close calls that get your blood pumping, those are where it's at. Sitting in your concrete house during a thunderstorm, hearing the rain on the roof? Oh my God. I love this game.

The core gameplay loop is pretty good for solo play but I think you suffer a bit in the tech tree department. The game was originally designed to revolve around multiplayer with players specializing in different fields. While they've walked that back a bit since and made it more solo-friendly, you're still going to bottleneck on tech unlocks a bit if you're doing it all yourself.
