Bio Fuel deep Drills shutting off.
As the title says, The Bio Fuel Deep Drills shut of when I quit the game. Eventually I'll have them all to electric, but because there is no "pause" in the game, it gets to become a PITA.
I'm playing Solo, I checked the integrity of the files, all 780 where fine, I picked up the drill and replaced it to see if that would help. It didn't. I recrafted a new one and the same happened.
Has this been a problem before? Or has this recent update stole my progress?

So... you're playing solo, and the drills are shutting off when you leave the game? There is no server when you're solo. The game doesn't exist when you quit. There's no world to continue to process. It's always been like this for solo.

I think he means they do not resume when the world is reloaded. That is a bug of some sort.

Edit: Just checked it in my world. One of my biofuel drills was off, but still had gas in the can. I turned it on, waited about 30 seconds and then exited to desktop. Restarted the game and checked the drill (I was standing right next to it) and it wasn't running. That's definitely a bug.

Is to "Resume"...

+1, my drills stop when exiting and don't restart unless I go manually activate them, definitely seems like a bug, didn't used to work that way used to come back to empty fuel and lots of ore after being away doing things.

+ 1, started with this last update, biofuel drills still have plenty of fuel, ore slots are not full yet, but the drills are all off when I load the game, solo, open world. Have to either manually activate them again, or they also start on their own when I take what ore is in them.

Ok, thanks. I'll deal with it. not really a game breaker.

have the same problem the drill ends and the marks i made on map also gone

I just ran into another problem which may be related. I was drilling exotics with the workshop drills. About halfway through drilling out the deposit, I closed the game to make dinner. I came back and restarted the game and saw the animation for the drills deploying play (never seen this happen before) and after the animation they weren't running (I did give them a few seconds). I checked the power cells and they still had charge in them and the deposit also still had exotics. I had to manually access each drill to restart them.

It appears that drill states are not being properly saved, or not being properly loaded after resuming a save. Or perhaps the animation is interfering with their reactivation. I'm not sure if the second one is involved though since this has affected bio drills that are in another map chunk. Unless animations get played when they are well outside of a players sight.

Yeah, they have a site to upvote suggestions, and report bugs.

By the way, the drills have always done this for as long as I can remember playing. You have to manually reactivate them after reloading. Not even sure this is a "bug".

No, they didn't used to do this. I've played for about a year and a half and this is relatively new. I remember having a bio drill on a copper vein right outside one of my bases a long time ago and it would be running as soon as I logged in, no interaction necessary. Same with the workshop exotic drills.

EDIT: Correction, I've been playing for 23 months, so very nearly 2 years.

Yes, it's annioying to restart them when you have multiple drills.

I have posted the bug to the devs bugtracker. Please upvote. They assure that they really read this. I still not sure that they are really interested in fixing things, cause there are still bugs with 500+ votes unfixed. But, well, that's the least we can do.
