So what happens if you fail a mission? You just don't get to do it?

Should have paid more attention to what I was getting into. Don't really have time for the game right now. Had to just log in and bring my character back from the 2nd mission (radar) with only having done one of them, and the little blurb in the ship said we couldn't go back.

I guess I will have to just leave the game aside until my holiday vacation so I can actually put some time into it. And as soon as I get to the planet, I'll do whatever mission it is. This time I made the mistake of spending my time leveling, and then something came up and I couldn't play it for a few days.

So what did my character miss out by not completing that mission? Should I just start over?

apparently its something like permadeath if you get left behind on the mission timer. however if you know your not going to make it you can just go back to the drop pod early.. and restart the mission. its a pretty involved game and some missions take 30 minutes while others take many hours. as long as you leave the planet if you know your not coming back to the game in time youl be ok.

Zed Im curious about this. Ive never been unable to go back from an incomplete mission. Sure the blurb says you arent done but was the return button made not functional? did it actually block you from leaving?

failing to compete mission objectives before leaving just means you wont get the rewards for that mission. as long you you get back to station before that timer ends your character is safe regardless of mission status.

No, it meant I couldn't return to the mission. It let me leave the planet just fine. Maybe it just means you can't return to the exact same mission you just left and that you have to start it over. I'm good with that.

Ah i see. yes that is correct. you can only leave a mission once. you cannot drop in and out, then back in again. Seems the original question has been answered

You don't lose access to the mission, you just have to start it from scratch.
