Dropship and Workshop items?

I noticed you can take 10 with you down to the planet but the drop pod only has 5 spaces for the return?!? For example, if I take my workshop items, (Canteen, Oxy Tank, Suit Mod, Pick, Axe, Knife) if barely uses 1/4 of what I can set for inventory on initiating the mission.

However, When I want to return, does the Canteen, Oxy Tank, Suit Mod that are in the suit auto return with you like the suit does? Or do they need to take on of the 5 spaces in the drop pod? If everything does need to fit, why give us 2 times the space to bring workshop items down that can not be returned?

Any info on this greatly appreciated, thanks

completely true. any workshop items in your inventory come back with you. the dropship slots are soley for exotics

Extra exotics also come back with you in your inventory. Tested on Payday about 30 mins ago, the 2 in my inventory counted also

Nice! I didnt know that as I never wanted to take the chance. o7 to you for taking the risk for science!

of course this kinda begs the question, whats the purpose of the dropship slots then?

there are missions you have to load the drop ship with certain things.
