So the "permadeath" you say is not mentioned clearly enough for these hardcore missions is one of the core mechanics of this game, thus it should not need to be mentioned separately.
You just need to make the connection that "no self revive" here means that you will definately miss the timer if no one comes to revive you. Simple logic, no reason to complain I think.
I have seen an increase of players in forums lacking the skill to make connections on their own or take responsibility for their actions. Also gaslighting, deflecting and projecting have increased too.
It's as if they were living in a safe bubble until they somehow fell through a doorway into the real world. They need to be held by the hand and get a tap on their shoulder so they won't cry and start a rant when they are wrong or it doesn't go the way they want. And everything has to change to suit their needs.
Bro hardcore says 1 life... You can't self revive if you play it solo it's recommended to only plan and tackle it with multiple players lol
Lol play, diablo HC
This community is so toxic. People make mistakes and misinterpret things all the time. Saying ‘u dumb’ just for making a mistake is a jerk move and this forum is littered with those types of comments.
True: There are those who just don´t want the game to get easier and defend their position but also true: There are likewise more people who do not adept their playstyle and do not know how to identify game mechanics and adept their playstyle and instead complain about some basis elements of the game they don´t like - which is fair. Every Opinion is equally worth to listen to.
Icarus is no FPS Shooterlike game though there are tough extermination missions which many cheesed because there was no other choice for them as to do so - the conclusion is: Game is to hard - and it is in some aspects as there are no real Combat mechanics in it. And then there are those who just like these kind of potentially 'unfair' encounters and take this as a challenge and suceed, maybe so with not even a single scratch and would like te get more.
Because Icarus has no real good answer for that and the Devs seems to be unsure in which direction regarding the difficulty they should go to please all, there are trying different things like the 6 hour mission, the hardcore missions, the change of total Mission time but that is naturally not a fit for everyone and again here we are: To hard..., to easy,....to short,...to much ressources needed, nerf this, buff that...and oh yes: Bugs bugs bugs. It is just understandable a community with such many different and diverse opinions may seem to be toxic but that mostly happens when people are entiteld to there way of playing a game and do not accept the fact Icarus gives them a finger for that and instead kicks butts (sadly some bugs do too). Due to the current state of the game, missing options for offline play (I´d say give offline players a fully customable playthough like Timer on/off, Bears easy/hard, Weather sunshine or devastating earthquakes) there are sometimes ironic comments which indeed get toxic really fast but more often there a quite a few mates who give reasonable clues in what they could do to get around their obstacles in playing the game.
If one have time and patience and is willing to learn/to adept to Icarus rules everything could go well but many people just like an easy to manage distraction and here comes the pain with this game. In fact Icarus is fairly easy to manage exept for some missions when it comes to preparation (cooking some buff food, may craft a weapon or do tidious grindings for ressources) but mostly it is an easy game when one know how to deal with it but: You have to adept, no way around that.
With all that said I think it is for certain that the state of the game and several opinions in how a game should work for them some toxic comments are coming through but as long as there are equally persons who do not let them be engaged but instead communicate through reason in how to overcome an obstacle and/or a problem (and I do not mean "git gud" with that) in first place I would not think the community is toxic. It is just a non beneficial situation for all at the moment because no one knows where the journey with Icarus is going.
