Also if orginal post was not a troll and he did get permadeath its becouse he waited over mission time limit and not removed himself from the prospect and not becouse he died on it.
Hardcore mode has warnings before you accept the mission. They all warn you that you can't self revive and if you die - you're dead permanently. You ignored those and went in alone anyway so you did this to yourself.
So many complaints on these forums are from people who neglected to read and understand what this game is, but they're blaming everyone but themselves. Now they're on about these hardcore missions that flat out tell you what will happen if you die. Do some research before you jump into something new, please.
No, they added a set of missions for people that find the game too easy, are max level, or want more risk (and more reward). This mode is not meant for solo players and before accepting a hardcore mission you should actually *READ* what the mission entails, and what the risks are. There are numerous warnings - you fail to read and heed them? Your fault.

It does, there's even a warning on the mission description telling you how hard the mission is. It's *NOT* on the developer, the information is there.

Four skull difficulty, right below the four skulls is the warning that you can not self revive in a hardcore mission and may only be revived by someone else.
I mean the missions have red around them and a warning label on the mission description screen. What more do you need? Someone to tell you knives are sharp, boiling water is hot, and Icarus is deadly?
Mission description dont mention anythink about perma death. It just state that you cant be revived by yourself and player respawn count is 1. Call me stupid but respawn is coming back after you die and suggest that you got one more chance - you dont. Its not equal to player spawn count 1. Or maybe its correct for groups and you can revive once? Didnt try but for sure unclear.
Previous and current expirience suggest that you can pull your self out even after you die by remove from prospect and patch notes does not suggest that its temporary fix as stated bellow. It does not says tho that it will work for dead character but thats how exacly it worked and still work. If thats not inteneded it need to be clearly said.
Remove from Prospects Button
Since release, we’ve had a temporary “debug” button available on the Character Select screen that allows you to quite ungracefully pull your character from a prospect and make them available to join a new one. At one point we disabled this function, due to abuse and some server instability issues it caused, but it is now back. It’s especially useful if your character gets stuck on a prospect. A huge thank you to the community members who have reported instances of this happening and provided details that help us investigate, as stopping these errors is a massive priority for us.
And finally wtf anyone would go for mission with 99lvl character that can die to one bear and get perma death for like not even double standard reward? One bear and hundreads of hours of work gone for extra 50 currency?
Even if you are god and it will never happen..you got 3h to complete.It wasnt even a week since we had 1h maintenance followed by forced update..So for most of ppl that 1h 30min out of 3h timer..for some maybe 2h or more? God or no god start you 99lvl character again because you wanted extra 50 currency. Any what about rl issues. Pointless.
Thats why I belive perma death is intended only for those who dont use remove from prospect on time when ♥♥♥♥ goes south. If its not then devs are smoking some strong stuff and ppl who choose to play hardcore got serious problem. Either way there should be clear message in game what to do not to lose your lvl 99 character as even here everyone got opinion not facts and ppl who got 30min on timer left cant be ask to google ♥♥♥♥ out and guess.Its devs job to explain game mechanics not the players who paid for the game.

!RESOLVED! Server Outage 19/12/2021
Hey folks, sorry for the late post but we had a ~45 minute database outage. It is back up for now, so just stay in-game and your client should reconnect and save in the next few minutes.
so thats 2 in one week..3 or 6h timers are a joke without practical solution like automaticly reseting mission timer ect. but even then rl can be a issue as you had to already leave for work or school or get sleep ect and wasnt able to recall you character in time either manually or by remove from prospect.
What part of you can't self revive do you not understand? If the entire group is wiped out nobody can self revive = perma death. It even says that you can only be revived by a fellow prospector. So if you play alone nobody will revive you.
If you don't comprehend written text and make your own assumption the problem is not the text.

Sorry to say but I am a solo player and I do got the hint in first place it would mean perma death to me when dying in those missions and I have problems in understanding other´s who don´t got the hint (really and honestly: No pun intended, nor do I want to anger anyone here).
Valid points were made that "somehow" some people don´t got it and the easiest thing would be to implement a second "Wanna proceed though you could get perma death?" query before starting the mission.

For new game new feature in new game with sudden timer change takes zero imagination to figure out as a dev that some ppl gonna be confused and angry that you didnt add one line of code saying -permadeath.
I started argue only when ppl start saying its so obvious and post screens that says otherwise and keep you guessing anyway. If they post on forum how new feature works or in faq or made release video ect thats ppl problem.But they didnt as far as I know. Instead they roll the dice on every character in game in low review score game not sure hopeing for what.Just sounds reckless to me.
Make a character specificly for these missions if you want, you don't need the best of the best for them, its about time / timing / luck / not so much levels and recipes. Id wager level 20+ you could be ok to do them if you know what you were trying to do.
Keep a "safe" character for general play and risk the other one / ones for these types of missions. Any headway you make contributes to the overall workshop tally.
