"Traditional" manner:
"Esc"...
"Quit to Desktop"...
"Yes"...
Wait for "Icarus" to shut down in "Steam"
Waiting^...
When Icarus "PLAY" appears...
The file "Saves" are done :)
"Steam" cannot prevent subscribers shutting down the "game" in an "un-traditional" manner...
Ending a gaming session...
In an "un-traditional"^ manner...
May result in "unfinished" game saves...
"un-traditional" end session examples:
"Esc"...
"Quit to Desktop"...
"Yes"...
Then shut the laptop and walk away... :(
This^ may not allow enough time for the completion of file saves...
"Esc"
"Quit to Desktop"...
"Yes"...
Then "quickly" shut down the "Steam" app... :(
This^ may not allow enough time for the completion of file saves either...
The purpose of my post is to ensure it's not a "subscriber" end problem...
Just using some good trouble shooting techniques :)
I can't tell you how many times I just found the unit unplugged...! :D lol
Animals disappear also in singleplayer. I've lost so many wolves I lost the count. Really annoying when it happens.
All nice and good, but...
Since this happens on a dedicated server that has a runtime of 300 secs after the last player logs out. Steam has no saying in how the game is being saved.
Also, all of the above is standard behaviour. But even if not, it should not happen hat tames disappear. If you have an unplanned disconnect, or you PC stalls, then you are to be fragged? That would be unacceptable, and very hard to imagine tbh.
I guess that some bug is responsible for loosing pets on a dedicated server. It being on the server or the client is not clear (both have been reinstalled, problem persists).
